Effects of Minutemen on the Arizona Border

According to a recent national news report, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) credits the Minutemen Project for a 20% decrease in drug smuggling along the Arizona/Mexico border over the past year.  While the Minutemen's presence at the border has been the subject of political tension both locally and nationally, it seems they have made a huge difference in an area other than illegal immigration.  Other than drug smugglers and drug-addicts, I think most people will admit this is great news.  Whether you agree or disagree with their stance on illegal immigration, you have to hand it to the Minutemen Project for the impact they've had on drug smuggling.
